Help is on the way for
Haiti's amputation victims! |

NEBCO Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization which specializes in providing prosthetic rehabilitation services to amputees living in poverty and disaster zones. We sponsor the "Haiti Amputee Rehab Team" which has made numerous trips to Haiti to provide prosthetic limbs and physical therapy to victims of the earthquake. Our foundation is sanctioned by the Haitian Ministry of Health to provide rehabilitation care to amputees. We are currently sending teams of highly trained & experienced prosthetists & physical therapists to the Port-au-Prince area to evaluate, cast, fabricate and fit amputees with prosthetic limbs. We then provide physical therapy and gait training on an ongoing basis via our team of extremely cabable local Haitians and through followup team visits. Our clinical standards & technology are drawn from the guidelines of Handicap International Rehab Cluster & The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for providing prosthetic care in disaster areas. We provide prosthetic limbs designed for long-term use as well as ease of maintenance and hygiene in tropical zones. We are teaming up with long-term care providers in Haiti so that our patients will have a permanent support network. We are also training local Haitians as Prosthetic Assistants who are working with our patients on a daily basis. To be able to continue our efforts,
